Multi-Purpose-Building

Multi-Purpose-Building (Mehrzweckbau)

The holiday resort “Almlust” is focusing on the active sportive guests. The resort offers a variety of outdoor activities on its premisses. A high-rope-garden leads right from the reception up to a climbing toper, over the roofs of the hotel into a labyrinth of ropes.

The new addition to the resort will be a Multi-Purpose-Building which offers space for yoga-classes, dance-classes, seminars and even weddings. The roof is designed as landscape crossed by a mountain bike trail. The outside of the staircase tower will be used as boulder-wall while its top serves a rainwater-reservoir for watering the plants or washing off the dirt form the bikes.

The existing climbing wall will be topped by a bivouac. This remote two-bed retreat evokes the promise of being far away from all the daily hustles. With the Multi-Purpose-Building the Almlust resort takes another step towards a sustainable year-round destination, away from the high peaks and deep valleys of the seasonal rhythm.

The Multi-Purpose-Building and the bivouac will be from cross-laminated timber. Only the staircase tower will be from concrete. The resort is heated by biomass, electricity id evoked by photovoltaic panels and the water management will get improved by rainwater storage tanks.
