Leitbild Flachau 2035

Flachau is a popular tourist destination recognized for its ski resorts, outdoor activities, and alpine setting. To be prepared for the future challenges, The Department developed a “Leitbild” (concept for Spatial Development) till the year 2035.

One of the main focal points of the mission statement is the local infrastructure of footpaths and cycle paths as well as the future development of motorised traffic. This is the issue that concerns residents the most, as traffic in the village is heavily reliant on motorised vehicles.

Other issues include the future development of affordable housing, social cohesion, local employment and local production opportunities. Due to the large area of the municipality, Flachau's farmers produce a considerable amount of dairy products that could be sold to locals and tourists alike.

The ‘Leitbild Flachau 2035’ was adopted by the municipal council and the first steps towards its implementation have already been taken.
